Ina-Garten
Ina Garten, an American author of cookery books and Emmy Award-winning host for Food Network's oldest program Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons to 2020. Ina began her career in writing nuclear energy policies and budgets to the White House. In the beginning, she was enthralled by the intellectual challenge of the job, but quickly began to lose the interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty food shop. After selling the store it took her more than 18 years building it to the most successful shop. The cookbooks were followed by many more, and magazines columns that came later. Another hit was the Food Network Television show. Additionally, she sells items including food-related ingredients, storage containers and equipment. Ina has never attended any cookery schools nor was she employed in a restaurant. Her education is completely self-taught. She is known as a simple cook and for her entertaining style. The most well-known recipes she has created are Skillet-Roasted lemon chicken and Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon, Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts & Lemon Bars.
